In ancient times, Nyame was known as the Sky King, a supreme creator diety in Ashanti mythology. Kwaku Anansi once asked the Sky King, who owned all things, for the power of storytelling. The two made a bargain. If Anansi captured three villains for Sky King, he would get his wish. Anansi did so and caught Mmoboro the Hornet, Onini the Serpent, and Osebo the Leopard. Sky King accepted them and granted Anansi his wish.
