Irene has lived at Wayne Powers Medical Research her whole life. She was born with an incomplete immune system that made her vulnerable to common microbes. Irene lived a sheltered life and was naive to certain things. Due to medical advances, Irene could venture outside thanks to iso field generator rings that projected a dia gravitational aura, that repels all matter. An oxy device on the ring recycles harmful particles and provides air to its user. She struck up a friendship with Terry McGinnis, which got her into a series of problems; curfew violation and discovering the identity of the Repeller. She survived and revealed to McGinnis that she already had a boyfriend, another patient named Larry.
