Omar Harmozi is a student at Dakota Union High School and is of the Muslim faith. Every year, Harmozi invites his friends to a Eid ul-Fitr feast at the end of Ramadan. Personality-wise, Harmozi is kind yet aloof. Most of the time, he is caught daydreaming. Harmozi is friends with Virgil Hawkins, Richie Foley, Frieda Goren, and Daisy Watkins. They all formed a bowling team together, as well. Harmozi has had his share of other forms of action, too. While helping Goren publish an unauthorized edition of the school paper, he was nearly killed by a mutated microbe but was saved by Static. During the rescue, Static noticed the microbe's weakness toward cleaning solution. He was also one of many Dakota residents placed briefly under mind control by Madelyn Spaulding, witnessed Jimmy Osgood's confrontation with Nick Connor, and ran from one of Toyman's robots. On his 16th or 17th birthday, Harmozi received a suit jacket from his father. While walking through Dakota Mall, he ran into Watkins, who admired it. Soon after, Eddie Felson stole the jacket off him.
