One of the highest ranking military officials of the United States, Wells is a main staple in international affairs. Wells was one of the few persons against US Senator Carter's proposal to disarm nuclear warheads using Superman. Wells' suspicions were confirmed when the Imperium horde invaded the defenseless Earth. Wells holds a seat at the World Assembly and given his military background, rallies behind having suitable defenses and is distrustful towards aliens, super humans and meta-humans.
Wells' distrust of aliens was confirmed once again when the Thanagarians proved to be hiding their true motives for Earth.
