Max Gibson is an over-achieving student at Hamilton High School. On the standardized test GAT, required for college admission, she scored a perfect 2400. Combined with her technological savyness, Gibson pursued an interest in the new Batman. She created a search program that would deduce Batman's identity through basic statistical information. Terry McGinnis slipped under the radar and was suspected to be one of the Jokerz. Gibson's prowess made her a target of the Jokerz, led by Terminal who turned out to be a student at Hamilton.
Gibson offered an ultimatum to McGinnis to meet her in a public place. She was stalked by the Jokerz but Batman arrived and dispatched them. Gibson realized McGinnis was in fact, Batman. She promised to keep it secret and became a confidant of his in his fledgling years. Bruce Wayne disapproved of the relationship since it made her a liability to everyone and the fact that she was rude and sarcastic.
Undaunted, Gibson assisted McGinnis in skills he currently lacked, hacking and espionage. Her involvement did fulfill Wayne's predictions. She was temporarily brainwashed by Spellbinder, nearly killed by Curare and kidnapped by Zander of Kobra. She was also kidnapped by the renegade synthoid, Zeta and held at Chipcon, in the factory district. She convinced Zeta to pursue a life of freedom and give up killing. Gibson also plays a mean round of Sentries of the Lost Cosmos.
