Father Stromwell is the younger brother of the mob boss Arnold Stromwell. Father Stromwell always tried to convince his brother to stay away from crime. The two were playing near train tracks one day. Arnold became stuck was was going to be killed but Michael saved his life. However, Michael lost his leg in the process. Arnold went on to become a mob boss while Michael, a priest. The two parted ways and never spoke. Years later, the two reconciled due to Batman.
