Dr. Madsen is an archaeologist at one of the local museums in Gotham City. Madsen spent a great deal of time fully restoring a wooly mammoth skeleton. Madsen, while being interviewed by Jack Ryder of the Gotham Insider news show, was visited by Mr. Freeze. Freeze was on a campaign to ruin innocent people's lives and he destroyed Madsen's work.
