Dr. Fulton and Dr. Zacharias are two zoologists conducting research at Gotham University. They performed intelligence tests on their subject, a gorilla. Their children named the gorilla, Fingers. However, the tests were going nowhere and their grant money was about to be revoked. The doctors purchased an illegal catalyst for splicing and injected Fingers with human DNA. Fingers berserked and escaped the lab.
