In the late 1970's, William Henderson started in the Metropolis Police Department and was promoted to Detective-Sergeant then Inspector. Decades later, Police Commissioner Henderson heads the Metropolis Police Department. Henderson was rarely seen at the front line except on an occassion when Parasite attacked an officer. Clark Kent seemed to have a working relationship with the Commissioner.
