Candide is a female recording artist. During her album's release day, Candide appeared at Spire Records in Dakota City, Michigan for a free signing. In anticipation of her success, Bernie Rast signed on to produce her next album. Virgil Hawkins, Richie Foley, and Daisy Watkins were present to get her autograph but HotStreak and Aquamaria appeared and proceeded to state a robbery. Previously unaware of the presence of metahumans in Dakota, Candide began to reconsider her contract with Rast.
