James Bennett, Jr. is the son of Special Agent James Bennett, of the NSA. Bennett dedicated his career to making the world a safe place for his son to grow up. However, this promise became an obsession and Jr. rarely saw his father. On one weekend, Jr. accompanied Bennett to the Vernet Medical Research Center instead of sailing like what was promised. Through a strange twist, he became trapped in a submarine with Ro Rowan only to be saved by his father and Zeta. Bennett elected to save his son and allowed Zeta and Rowan to escape.
