The Tower of Fate is the headquarters and home of Dr. Fate and Inza, his wife. Believed to be based in Salem, Massachusetts, the Tower exists on the Nexus of Subtle Realms and invisible to others unless Fate summons it. It has neither doors nor windows. A simple spell or an anti-magic weapon such as a Thanagarian mace creates an entrance. On occassions, Superman often yells Fate's name for an entrance to be created. While inside, one quickly realizes it transcends time and space and is much larger in size than what the exterior suggests.

Over the centuries, Fate stored invaluable artifacts and text within to Tower for reference. Most of them are also kept in the Tower to prevent their misuse as they possess powerful magic within them. The most important object is said to the all seeing Orb of Octorum, which allows Fate to observe any event, past, present, or future. Years later after Superman and Dr. Fate defeated Karkull, Superman, Wonder Woman, an Hawkgirl arrived in search of answers for attacks conducted by Old Ones. Instead, they discovered Dr. Fate, Aquaman, and Solomon Grundy performing an arcane ritual.

In the conclusion of the Thanagarian invasion, Dr. Fate offered his tower as sanctuary to Shayera Hol so that she may meditate and make a decision on her life. Hol soon met a kindred spirit is search of purpose, AMAZO. Aquaman also visited on occassion to try and reignite the warrior spirit he had come to respect in Hol.
