The Joker surprisingly spared Collins' life but kept his drivers license. Fearing for his family, Collins relocated to Springdale under the alias of Don Wallace. The Joker knew this and kept tabs on him. Two years later, the Joker contacted Collins and called in his "favor." Collins agreed and was picked up by Joker's henchmen, Rocko and Henshaw.
