The Source Wall is the boundary of the edge of existence in the Promethean Galaxy and protects the Source. It is rumored that beyond the Wall lies Heaven, where the dead go, Silver City, home of the Seraphim, and Ultimate Knowledge, which includes the solution to the Anti-Life Equation. The Wall traps all those who prematurely attempt to pass through it. In theory, it is possible to pass through. Only those with at least a 12th Level intellect have a higher survival rate. Over time, the Wall became decorated with the corpses of the Old Gods, would-be conquerors, and curious souls; all imprisoned for eternity. Darkseid's father, Yuga Khan, is one of these prisoners.
It is unknown if anyone prior to present time ever survived a journey into the Wall. Only Metron is suspect but he remains an enigma. In the 21st century, Lex Luthor convinced Metron to give him the one thing capable of defeating Darkseid. Together, they teleported to the Source Wall. Despite Metron's warning, Luthor ventured forth and passed through the Wall. Suprisingly, he survived, returned to Earth, and disappeared with Darkseid.
