The Sorben Institute is a research and development group founded by several scientists, including Dr. Eli Selig, eight years ago at most in Texas. The Institute nutures young and upcoming talent in the fields of science and technology. They are given the resources to complete their inventions and pitch it to companies affiliated with the Institute. Every year, the Innovation Awards are held for the inventors to showcase their research to companies and peers. The current director is Dr. Tannor but after he was found out to be stealing ideas as his own, he was ousted and replaced by Dr. Greer.
Bucky Buenventura was the youngest known participant, only in his pre-teens. However, far ahead of his time, Buenventura often blew up several rooms conducting his experiments and was often suspended. A year later, Buenventura was arrested by the NSA and was never seen again at the Institute.
