The San Baquero Island is located in the Caribbean Sea. Over the years, the US Federal Government has spent resources to try and dismantle the drug trade based in San Baquero without success. In the 21st century, the island's volcano became dangerously active again. The Justice League Unlimited intervened and offered their transports to evacuate San Baquero's population to safety. Superman, meanwhile, tried to prevent total disaster by carefully creating new pathways for the magma to flow.
At the same time, Doomsday escaped from a Cadmus facility and attacked Superman inside of the volcano. The battle made it unstable. Superman finally gained the upperhand and knocked Doomsday into the volcano as it exploded. Wonder Woman flew in and extracted the weakened Superman just in time. Doomsday survived, sealed in cooled magma. It was then taken into the League's custody. San Baquero was completely covered in magma and was deemd uninhabitable.
