The Mirror Dimension is a fourth dimension discovered by Samuel Scudder while he conducted optics research. He reflected himself through mirrors positioned at particular angles from one another in order to enter the dimension. It is a black void with several levels and an indefinite gravity. Doorways are represented by mirrors at the end of each level and are infinite in number. Scudder used it as a means of escape from robberies and prison. As Mirror Master, he gained greater control of it with a new invention, the Portal Ray. He could now shoot mirrors and access the Mirror Dimension by simply stepping into them.
During the first inaugural Flash Appreciation Day, Batman and Orion arrived in Central City warning the Flash of an attack by Mirror Master, Captain Boomerang, and Captain Cold at the opening of the Flash Museum. In preparation, Batman removed all mirrored surfaces from the Flash Museum. However, Linda Park, reporter, brought a compact mirror and the trio arrived through that compact. During the fight, Park tripped and fell into the Mirror Dimension. The Flash followed and began the task of finding their way back. Batman shot a Bat Flare into it and the Flash returned with Park to end the battle.
