400,000 years ago, a stratovolcano, later named Mount Merapi, became active and erupted in the Malay area. 50,000 years ago, the Semang migrated from Africa and procreated with Malay aboriginals. Then in the 2nd and 3rd centuries, the area was settled by China and India. Empires rose and fell until 1511, when Portugal set up a colony and later the British. In an effort to further control and tin trade, Britain set up the Federated Malay States, a puppet government to some. After World War II, Communism, and the involvement of the United Nations, Malaysia, a democratic nation, was eventually formed.

Today, the Southeast Aisan country is made up of 13 states and follows a parliamentary model. The capital city is Kuala Lumpar and the federal goverment is headquartered in Putrajaya. Currently involved in manufacturing, Malaysia remains one of the most diverse locations for plantlife. The diversity of nature has even won the admiration of Ra's al Ghul. In the mid-1990's, Ra's al Ghul, Ubu, and Batman went on a cross country case to rescue Talia, Ra's daughter, and Robin. Their second stop was in Malaysia and visited Mount Merapi, or "Mountain of Fire." They entered a temple and Batman fought a black leopard and rendered it unconscious.

Years later, Malaysia was one of the countries invaded by the Imperium. The Flash and Green Lantern were dispatched to this country to defeat them but were forced to retreat. After the Imperium leader was killed, the seven superheroes went after the leftover invasion forces, including the one in Malaysia. In the 2050's, Bruce Wayne traveled to Malaysia to take care of business while a fugitive Curare hunted down her former masters.
