London was founded in AD 43 and is the capital city of England and the United Kingdom. Today, it is a metropolis surrounded by relics of history and is considered the largest city in Europe with influence in almost every sector: business, finance, politics, education, entertainment, media, fashion and the arts. One of its most famous landmarks is Big Ben, the world's largest four-faced, chiming clock.
After the last of the Cold War-era land-based missile silos were decommissioned across the planet, England secretly held onto one, nicknamed Project Excalibur which was housed in a castle stronghold. Two government agents were entrusted with one half of the code needed to activate the weapons systems, Alfred Pennyworth and his partner, Freddie. Decades later, Red Claw attempted to use Excalibur for her latest terrorist plot but was defeated by Batman and Robin.
The Arthurian-century Morgaine Le Fey and her son Mordred settled in a loft in London in the early 21st century. On October 30th, Le Fey battled the Justice League and Etrigan just as the deluded J'onn Jonzz arrived with the Philosopher's Stone. The fight ended when Jonzz destroyed the stone. As expected, Le Fey abandoned this space and the city of London for another hideout. Years later, London was one of the cities invaded by Darkseid's forces.
