Lemnos is an island located in the North Aegean Sea, near Greece. In the times of the Greek Gods, Hephaestus was cast down to Lemnos. Here, he recovered thanks to nymphs. Afterwards, Hephaestus established a forge near one of the island's volcanos, Mosychlos. It is said the occassional glimpses of fire were when he was working on a new project. One of his known creations is the armor that later became the costume of Wonder Woman. Centuries later, Lemnos is now part of the prefecture of Lesbos and its capitol city is Myrina. It is known for its livestock and agriculture, mainly Muscot grapes that give their wine a specific taste.
Ares recently commissioned Hephaestus to create a new weapon for him. Impatient, Ares arrived in the Lemnos forge and found him putting the finishing touches on the Annihilator. Also among his creations present was a golden throne. Shortly after, Wonder Woman arrived to question Hephaestus about the Annihilator after it appeared in Kaznia.
