Golden Bay City is located in the state of California, home to the annual Picto Convention, famous trolley rides, and the Golden Bay Bridge. The Picto Convention started out as a gathering of comic book fans for four days every summer but has expanded to include that of science fiction, fantasy, horror, anime, manga, animation, toys/action figures, collectible card games, video games, webcomics, and literature series. Diehard fans also take the chance to dress up as their favorite characters in home made costumes. Trolleys are now operated by driverbots but otherwise maintain a classic design for tourists.
Zeta and Ro visited the city when they learned Ro's long lost brother, Casey MacCurdy was living there. After getting pressure from his boss and the NSA, MacCurdy helped set a trap on the Bay Bridge's South Tower Observation Deck. However, he later sabotaged the operation and helped the duo escape capture.
