Sometime in the late 12th century, two towns named Colln and Spree united in economic harmony. After 1307, the two towns became known as Berlin. It wasn't until the the 1440's when a military governor, Fredrick II, established Berlin as his capitol. After suffering from the Thirty Years War' and becoming a haven for immigrants, Berlin became the capitol of the Kingdom of Prussia in 1701. With the advent of the Industrial Revolution, Berlin began to expand in size and population. In the 1920's, Berlin's population expanded to 4 million easily and became a cultural center.

The injustice of World War I gave rise to the Nazi Party and Adolf Hitler. The Jewish population was rounded up, Berlin became the capitol of the Third Reich, and was torn from air raids. Steve Trevor infiltrated the High Command in Berlin in June 1944. Soon after, J'onn Jonzz was captured by the Nazi's and interrogated unsuccessfully. Jonzz escaped and destroyed Vandal Savage's laptop to deter his ambitions. At the end of World War II in 1945, Berlin was split into four occupation zones each for the United States of America, Britain, France, and Soviet Union. The Soviet Union zone became known as West Berlin while the other three were collectively known as East Berlin. As the tensions of the Cold War escalated, the Berlin Wall was erected to physically separate the two zones in half. Since then, Berlin was reunified and prospers as one of the most populated cities in the European Union.
