Ajuris-5 is part of a series of planets and moons that share the name, Ajuris. Ajuris-5 is a bustling city and appears to profit from trade. Tribunal is held on this planet and a small defense force is kept active. Three figures act as judges and if needed, the third vote will break a tie in the final ruling. In order to deal with the morality of advocates, the tribunal declared that they would suffer the same fate as those they defended. In most cases, the death sentence is carried out by a gas chamber. Some time after the rise of the Green Lantern Corps, the Manhunters were demoted and became servants of the Ajuris Tribunal.
While on a mission for the Green Lantern Corps, Jon Stewart was on the trail of pirates who sold blasters to rebels on Ajuris-4. He pursued Kanjar-Ro and engaged in battle only to be ambushed by Ro's allies. Stewart raised a shield to defend himself. An Illusitron planted by the Manhunters delivered the image that a deflected blast hit a volcanic fault line on Ajuris-4 and triggered a cataclysmic reaction. The moon was destroyed and 3 billion lives taken. Tribunal ordered the Manhunters to apprehend Stewart and return to Ajuris-5. They played into the robots' hands, and lured the Guardians of the Universe from Oa, leaving it vulnerable to attack. Luckily, the Justice League realized this and saved Stewart and the Flash just as the death penalty was being carried out.
