War Wheels are gigantic, spiked, and heavily armored weapons of war invented by Professor Merson. He willingly defected to the Nazi Party and offered them a weapon that no artillery shell could penetrate. It went ignored until the ascension of Vandal Savage as leader. He applied a transistor, an electrical device that was originally invented after World War II, to the War Wheel and mass produced them for his military force. While the Allies were no match for them, the Justice League used their super powers to make short work of them. After the war, at least one was confiscated by the Blackhawk Squadron and reprogrammed as one of many goofy security systems on their island base.

In the 21st century, Lex Luthor, the Key, and Dr. Polaris broke into the Blackhawk Victory Museum. Anticipating the Justice League, Luthor reprogrammed several devices including a War Wheel to attack the heroes. The Flash later generated a water spout that pulled in the War Wheel and several Robot Sharks. They collided into a mountainside and exploded.
