The Penguin is never without his regal umbrella. It is in fact a concealed weapon. Most often, it hides a motorized propeller blade to give him the gift of flight and to escape a theft quickly. It is much like Batman's utility belt in that it has just about every implement you can think of; poison gas, blade, rotor blade, blow torch, tommy gun, and electrical taser. While setting up a trap for Batman at the Gotham Zoo, Penguin used his umbrella to emit a nectar extract on Batman. While inside an aviary, the nectar attracted hummingbirds with poisonous beaks.
