The Static Saucer is the first invention Richie Foley created for Static. It is made of mylar, a metallized nylon, a material stronger than reinforced steel. It is retracted in half for easy storage but when Static applies an electric charge, the device unfolds into a saucer. Rather than use random garbage can lids, the Static Saucer is the official mode of transportation of Static. He also uses it to block projectile attacks and cut objects at high speed. When un-energized, Static can place the Saucer on villains' heads like a blanket.

Despite the name, the device can accompany more than one person. In a rather interesting feat, Anansi the Spider often stands upside down on the underside of the Saucer. The retired superhero, Soul Power preferred surfing on power lines but eventually warmed up to the idea of using saucers. On another case, Daisy Watkins rode topside with him as he escorted her back home. When Foley manifested enhanced intelligence, one of his first acts was figuring out how to make the Static Saucer fold up smaller.
