As a security measure, when Katar and Chay-Ara Hol were buried, their pyramid was riddled with various deathtraps. An inner chamber concealed their tomb, space ship, and treasury. If the improper sequence of stones are pressed, then a dozen or so statues are activated and turn into robot mummies, presumably leftover Thanagarian technology, programmed to kill intruders. In the 21st century, Batman, Shayera Hol, and Hawkman destroyed the mummies before confronting the Shadow Thief.
