During the Gotham Tricentennial, Mr. Freeze set out to destroy the lifelong accomplishments of Gotham City's citizens. The plan culminated in the destruction of Batman's, Gotham. Freeze kidnapped a team of scientists and forced them to create a Reverse Fusion Bomb. With a radius of 10 miles, the bomb was to be dropped, and upon activation, it would freeze most of the city. Batman intervened and in the skirmish, Freeze was tied to the Reverse Fusion Bomb as Batman dropped it into Gotham Bay where it safely detonated.
