The Mega Rod is a multi-functional Apokoliptian device and the primary weapon of Big Barda. In battle, it can be used as a blunt club but it also has the capacity to shoot beams of energy, fly, transform Barda's clothes, generate an electric shock, and extend. It also is one of the few devices that can affect Superman. 50 years into the future, Big Barda still wields the Rod. In a moment of impulse, Batman stole the weapon to destroy Aquagirl's swimming tank and save her. Because Batman was not a New God, the kick from firing an energy blast propelled him backwards.
