On the planet Kalanor, Green Lantern Katma Tui and an underground resistance used spare parts to create a Matter Transporter in their primary hideout. It is a teleportation device capable of teleporting inorganic or organic matter from one place to another. After infiltrating Despero's legion, Tui was often called on to personally execute those who broke Despero's laws by throwing them into the Flame of Py'tar. At the point they fell in, the resistance would activate the Matter Transporter and save them, thus recruiting them to their side, as well. The last known person to be saved by it was Green Lantern, John Stewart. The resistance leader, Shifflet, often gave the device a punch or kick to get it to function properly.
