The Laugh-O-Meter is a laughter activated electric chair invented by the Joker. While robbing a bank, he captured Batman. Eager to stage Batman's death for all to see, the Joker took over an episode of the Late Night Gotham Live television show. When the chair picked up on laughter, its generator would turn on and apply voltage based on the amount and intensity of laughter registered. The Joker then pumped laughing gas into the studio audience and induce them to volunteer. However, Catwoman intervened and attacked Harley Quinn. In the confusion, a fork landed in Batman's lap and he used it to escape his restraints just as the chair overloaded.
