The Jade Cat Statue is an 18th century Chinese statue of a cat carved from jade stone. In the mid-1990's, the Jade Cat was on loan to Gotham State University for its Han Dynasty Exhibition running in the second half of May. Roland Daggett broke into the museum and stole the Jade Cat with acid from his defunct company. Bankrupt by litigation, Daggett planned to sell the Jade Cat on the black market and rebuild his empire. In order to stall the police, he figured Catwoman would be implicated in its theft. Batgirl and Catwoman teamed up to find it. Their search led them to an abandoned Daggett Industries facility. Daggett was defeated but Catwoman attempted to steal the Jade Cat anyway. It was recovered and returned to Gotham State University.
