The Illusitron is a device known to project crude 3D images. On Mars, it was a simple toy but across the universe it was one of many advanced forms of technology. In the 21st century, the Manhunters initiated a plan to get revenge on their former benefactors, the Guardians of the Universe. They hid a giant Illusitron on the moon of Ajuris-4. When Kanjar-Ro arrived with Green Lantern, John Stewart, in pursuit as agreed between the villains, the Illusitron was activated and Stewart was made to believe he destroyed a planet by mistake. While the High Tribunal was busy conducting a trial and all vested parties were distracted, the Manhunters would invade Oa and take the power of the Central Battery. Superman and J'onn Jonzz investigated the remains of Ajuris-4 and realized the moon was surprisingly still in its normal orbit. They were attacked by Kanjar-Ro but Hawkgirl arrived and downed Ro's ship. She then destroyed the Illusitron and revealed the planet was unharmed.
