In the Beginning of Time, the Great Hand cultivates the Big Bang which results in the creation of the universe. The Source, Order, and Chaos were the first to be born from the Hand. The Great Hand, the Voice and the Word are different forms of The Presence, an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent and omniversal supreme being. Unknown time passed. Due to an undisclosed incident, the Guardians of the Universe proclaimed a universal law that no one could ever see the Beginning of Time and became a staple of Green Lantern Corps legend.
After terminally degrading the time stream, Chronos decided the only possible course of action left was to open a time tunnel to the Beginning of Time. Thus, he would be able to manipulate the Great Hand and become a god, rewriting history effectively. Green Lantern and Batman followed. All three witnessed the Great Hand as Batman attempted to reprogram the Chronos Suit. Just as the trio were about to crash into the Hand, the program activated and the timeline was reset. Green Lantern and Batman returned to the Watchtower. They alone were the only ones to remember their time travel mission.
