During a plan to kill the Flash on Flash Appreciation Day, Captain Boomerang attacked him while he received the key to Central City from the mayor. After a cluster of boomerangs destroyed themselves, a giant boomerang was launched from a rooftop. Upon contact, several clamps bound Flash to the boomerang and a display opened up. Flash broke free and smashed the circuitry of the weapon. Instead of continuing to its collision course with a mountainside, the giant boomerang landed somewhere in the city right in front of Batman and Orion. After the failure, Captain Boomerang claimed it cost him a fortune but Mirror Master was skeptical.
