The CC-100 is what the GothCorp researcher Dr. Victor Fries attributed to as mankind's first step to immortality. From his own design, Fries created a cryogenic freezing chamber expressly for freezing subjects stricken with inoperable ailments. In a twist of fate, his wife Nora was housed in it. However, Fries was secretly stealing GothCorp funds and equipment to build the CC-100 and left the company $3 million in debt. After an attempted seizure went wrong, the CC-100 and Nora Fries came into the possession of Grant Walker, a major GothCorp investor. His team of scientists appeared to have refined and upgraded the CC-100. The technology was what kept Nora Fries alive for years and when she was operated in the late 1990's, her ailment was cured.
