Drake Burroughs was once a promising student in the field of astro-pysics. While he attended an anti-energy experiment, Burroughs was exposed to a massive charge of anti-energy. His body was destroyed but his consciousness survived as a form of the energy. Luckily, the professor at the demonstration gathered Burroughs into a containment suit. Due to the properties of the suit, Burroughs stabilized and the energy could self-regenerate. Burroughs called himself Wildfire and joined the Legion of Superheroes.
