Native of Slyggia, Salakk inherited the mantle of Green Lantern in Space Sector 1418. Among Lanterns, Salakk is considered to be one of the elites but also a loner. Salakk even covered Sector 1417 for Katman Tui when she was ordered to train a raw recruit named John Stewart. He was part of the team of Green Lanterns that travelled to Earth to stop a rampaging AMAZO and exact revenge on it because of the apparent destruction of Oa.
