Considered to be the first costumed hero of the World War Two era, the Crimson Avenger first appeared in 1938 on the eve of the radio broadcast of Orson Welles' dramatization of the H G Wells novel, "War of the Worlds". At first he was just Lee Travis, a young publisher of the Daily Globe-Leader, a crusading newspaper but later donned a costume in an effort to discover the truths hidden by the media. He later joined the crime fighting group, the Seven Soldiers of Victory and suffered their collective fate of being dispersed across time. Crimson Avenger ended up during the epoch of Aztec civilization. Crimson Avenger arms himself with gas guns.
Later, he was returned to the 20th century and joined the Justice League Unlimited. When Wonder Woman was transformed into a pig by Circe, Crimson Avenger helped in the search effort.
