Real Identity: Laurel Gand

Laurel Gand, of the planet Daxam, is the descendant of the legendary hero Lar Gand. Gand was raised in a village run by the racist group, the White Triangle. Daxams are similar to Kryptonians in terms of their unique physiological reaction to the yellow sun. However, Daxams have a stronger weakness towards lead. Lead is poisonous to Daxams. Gand was later drafted by her planet's government to join the Legion of Superheroes as Andromeda. At first, she viewed others as people of 'lesser races' but her time with the Legion soon changed her attitude.
