The Warthog is a wild species of the pig family and lives in Africa. About 3 feet tall and weighing about 300 pounds, the warthog gets its namesake from a series of warts on its head. For males, it plays a part in battles with other males as a source of defense. They are more commonly known for their pair of 10 inch tusks. Despite appearances, the warthog is rather flexible and nimble.
Maxie Zeus kept a warthog in an area of his condo as a mythic beast. When Batman infiltrated the compound, he was thrown out of the building by the warthog. Years later, when Zatanna and Batman confronted Circe near Greece, she turned several innocent bystanders into animals and unleashed them on the heroes. One of the beasts that appeared was a warthog. Batman knocked out most of them with a well placed gadget.
