After numerous mentions in ancient cultures, fossils, and sightings at Loch Ness, the sea serpent is a famous icon in the world of cryptozoology. Once referred to as a dragon, modern day science concludes if it exists, it would be a living plesiosaur, a long-necked reptile that existed in mostly tropical waters. Nonetheless, at least one such sea serpent lived and was once summoned by Aquaman. Together, they extracted Solomon Grundy from a confrontation with private security forces. The serpent demonstrated its unusally long neck and prominent retractable neck frill. Theories on dinosaur's neck frills are for thermoregulation or as a defense mechanism.
