1000's of years after Vandal Savage conquered Earth, the shift in its orbit and the proximity of other celestial bodies catalysed the evolution of several animal species. Wolves grew larger, more vicious, and sported bone protrusions on their backs. A pack of wolves stalked a time lost Superman and grew more bold as his resources dwindled until he confronted their alpha male, who had a more prominent red coat than the others. Superman used his makeshift sword to kill it and assume leadership over the pack. Superman skinned the alpha male and wore his coat as a badge of honor. The remaining wolves yielded and helped transport him closer to the Justice League Watchtower's location. Once the trail led into the jungle, Superman dismissed the wolves. After Superman returned to the past and changed the outcome, the wolves and that future ceased to be.
