A garden variety spider was accidentally exposed to a highly concentrated liquid form of Quantum Vapor at Dakota Union High School. It was stolen by two delinquent students, Royce Axelrod and Frankie D'Amico but mishandled in a classroom. In a rush to avoid suspicion, a few drops were left in a trash bin where a spider and cockroach were. The Meta-Spider quickly spun a giant web outside on campus grounds. Static broke up the web with a dumpster then lured the spider to the football field where he defeated it with the two goal posts. It is unknown whether euthanasia was administered to the creature or if was later cured by Dr. Todd's antidote.
