Two students of Dakota Union High School, Royce Axelrod and Frankie D'Amico, stole a suitcase containing a highly concentrated liquid form of Quantum Vapor. While hiding the Vapor, several drops fell into a classroom trash bin. A cockroach and spider were in the bin and made contact with the Vapor, mutating into giant monsters. The Meta-Roach attacked a talent show rehearsal but it was defeated by Static. It is unknown whether euthanasia was administered to the creature or if was later cured by Dr. Todd's antidote.
