Arabian Camels inhabit the African and Middle East regions. One of two species, the Arabian is differentiates itself by having only one hump. The hump is a storage space for fat used for energy as an adaptation to hot climates. Another important feature is they can go for longer periods without water and survive temperatures that would kill other mammals. Because of this, they are often substituted for transportation rather than horses or donkeys. Ra's al Ghul's Society of Shadows incorporated several Arabian camels to travel to their master's fortress in the Sahara Desert.
