A disgruntled Gotham City physicist turned outlaw and planned to help wanted criminals escape to the future for a fee. He took the name Timecode. Timecode was soon surrounded by the Gotham City Police Department but were unable to enter without risking injury. Static arrived and tore open the roof, allowing Batman and Robin to subdue him. Batman confiscated Timecode's levitating time travel chair. While trying to deactivate it, a glitch in the internal power source reactivated the device. Batman was caught in the chair's field but Static used his power and was pulled into a time tunnel instead. While Static saved himself in the future, Gear was summoned to the Batcave to help retrieve his longtime ally.
