Jimmy Peake is a known drug dealer in Gotham City. Peake, better known as Jazzman, carries a Tommy Gun housed in a guitar case. In a six year span, Peake was previously busted by James Gordon. Since then, Peake swore revenge. He set up a drug sale to lure the Police Department to a trap. A gunfight followed and Gordon was hit.
Due to prison overcrowding, Judge Maria Vargas sentenced Peake to Stonegate Penitentary to await trial. Peake immediately staged an escape and instead of fleeing, went straight to the Gotham General Hospital to finish off Gordon. Batman confronted Peake and he was re-arrested.
