Kai was a teenage runaway in Gotham City. Kai soon entered a secret martial arts dojo was molded into a deadly fighter by the dojo's sensei. However, Kai was defeated in a match against Catwoman. Kai swore to get revenge and became a mercenary for hire called Hellhound. The throwing knives and daggers strapped to his costume are his weapon of choice.
