Dr. Kane is a famous magic debunker worldwide. Kane's travels are merely to de-mystify the acts of magicians and the like. Kane succeeded and built up a modest estate. He also purchased a state of the art aircraft in part to his love of aeronomics. Kane was not satisfied and sought more wealth. He seized a chance to frame Zatanna when she performed a disappearing stunt at the Gotham Mint. Kane secretly planted a device to reflect a hologram of the money then removed it afterwards to make the money disappear. Kane planned to leave Gotham with the money aboard his plane but he was intercepted by Batman and Zatanna.
